Wondering about visual acuity.

I just saw 4-6 skydivers over Arlington. More than one had an American flag hanging from them, like soldiers parachuting into an NFL game.

I looked at Google Earth when I got home, to see where in the hell they might be able to have landed, and drew a line from my observation spot by my house into the direction where I saw them. The only safe landing spot along that path was the Iwo Jima memorial, which is 3.19 miles away. I clearly saw the dark specks of a human being under the canopy of each parachute.

So the question is, can you see a person 3 miles away? Don't tell me about a candle at 1.5 miles, that's totally different.

2.44 miles away. They didn't land at Iwo Jima, but at the army base next to it.

What are you thinking right now?

I don't usually subscribe to the whole Taco Tuesday thing, but, I'm thinking tacos.

I'm thinking about a tower of beer.

Sooner, rather than later.

I'm thinking my Booch is full on vinegar so I need to do a cleanout. Too bad cuz I got a nice growler with a chalkboard surface for Pappy's day.

I'm... trying to understand...

Your homemade beer has spoiled, which is a shame because you wanted to drink some in your new beer glass--that has a chalkboard surface??

That's really close! Due to the heat my Kambucha turned to vinegar before I could bottle it. Lil G sent me a jug (growler) with a chalk accepting surface so I can write the ingredients on it.

Recipe: Kombucha Italian Salad Dressing

Ingredients:

1 cup kombucha (fermented to a vinegar taste)
1½ cups olive oil
3 garlic cloves, minced fine
1½ Tbsp. minced onion
1 Tbsp. honey
1 Tbsp. dried oregano
½ tsp. dried basil
1½ Tbsp. fresh minced parsley
1 Tbsp. sea salt
¼ tsp. red pepper flakes

Instructions:

1. Combine all ingredients in a quart-sized jar. Cover and shake until everything is well combined.

2. The oil and kombucha vinegar will probably separate after it sits for some time, so give it a shake before pouring.
