Well, it's one or the other of those two. The first one means we'd have a much lower mortgage, but the second one would be pretty much a straight swap. The first one would need a deck, and there's also signs of wear and tear on the carpets etc which didn't show up in the photos. It's also on one of the main roads, so more traffic, and it's further from the water.

The second one is only about two blocks from the water, and there's nothing needs doing what so ever. I'd probably want to put a pool in for the kids, and there's a double car shed out the back which I'd probably line and set up as a rumpus area for the kids, but that'd be something to keep me occupied while everyone else is out at school and work.

We'll have a think about it for a few days though. Dazza reckons he's happy to take my word for it on which one, but I still think he should come and have a look for himself.

I took Dazza down to check out the properties in Jacobs Well over the easter break and we're signing a contract on the one with the spa. There's an additional agent involved now with better pics if you're interested. Hopefully the vendor will accept the price we've offered and in the mean time, our agent up here will sell the place we're currently living in.

Thanks mate. I've had a talk to the bank and our manager doesn't seem to think there'll be any problems even if we haven't sold this place, so that's nice to know. Obviously we'll be happier if we sell though. Much less interest to pay.

I think so too Merc. The township itself only has a population of 650, so it's very much a village lifestyle which to me is something to look forward to. I'm tired of the ratrace here in Brisbane, but we're still only about 30 mins drive from either the center of Brisbane or the center of the Gold Coast, so we're away from it all, but not if that makes any sense.

I liked the first house so much better. What made you choose this one? The High ceilings made it look more homey.

There's a lot of things wrong with the first one. It'll basically need a complete renovation within 10yrs, and as my husband is not handy at all, that means a lot of the work would be pretty expensive. For us, we're better off getting somewhere that doesn't need any maintenance. Plus, the second one looks much nicer in person.

Got it. Pictures can be deceiving.

yeah...and also, the location of the second one is much better. 5 minute stroll to the water etc. The first one is on the road out of town and means we'd be using the car just as much as we do now.

The vendor has accepted our offer, so we'll be moving in a month or two.

[effie]How excitement![/effie]
