Can I ignore myself? I'd like to try that. It'd be much easier than pulling my foot outta my mouth after the fact.

what happens if you "ignore" someone? something more than not receiving PMs, I take it.

In a thread, you see that the ignored person has posted, but you can't see the contents of their post. There is a button or something in the blank post that you can click on if you want to see the contents of just that one post that one time.

well, yeah. I suppose I could try it to determine the effect, but I really thought it was to block PMs. But few people here seem to use PMs . . .

I've got 2. One went away, one didn't. It really isn't that useful a function, since you can't tell from thread updates if someone who isn't ug has posted. I'm probably gonna stop using it.
