I think this would be a good time for me to try to figure out how to use my DVR! I need some of those smart aliens to come and help me.

Ooh, I saw it and it was fascinating. A few things that really struck me:
http://www.world-mysteries.com/sar_7.htm http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antikythera_mechanism I'm not sold on the idea of ancient astronauts, but this show really opened my eyes to some interesting and extremely mysterious things. Highly recommended! |

I don't have time to look it up but I think the next showing is tomorrow. Let's all watch it at the same time and pretend we're having a big slumber party. I'll bring the beer; who's got the popcorn?
edit: grr...it's Saturday at 8, I think

They talk to him quite a bit, in this show. I remember reading parts of the book when I was a kid.

Oh lord no! I edited that part about 3 times between waiting on students and trying to figure out the History Channel's website.
Nah, my shattered heart likes to stay home on the weekends.

NO! Did the posie remark make you sad? Get posies AND some voddie. A nice, cold voddie with two olives. Or a bloody Mary. And salted nuts...and "Casino Royale" starring Daniel Craig...hey...gives me an idea....

I know there is speculation about how the Egyptians lit the Lighthouse at Alexandria, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. I believe sometimes they may have used mirrors and fire/daylight to light things, or crystals. My ex told me the ancient Greeks had steam-powered engines. I don't know if it's true, but if it is, you have to wonder what else they knew, that we lost and took ages to discover again. hmmm, I guess there is some truth to it... http://campus.udayton.edu/~hume/Steam/steam.htm Last edited by sugarpop; 03-14-2009 at 09:19 AM. |

Oh, love those photos. The author of the site went to Univ of Dayton!
I was in heaven when I toured The Berkeley at the Maritime Museum in San Diego.
