I don't think it's that anyone assumes Americans won't understand the dry humour. I think it's more that there is an assumption that Americans may prefer something they can more closely relate to. We do it here too, make tv shows of our own based on an American tv show premise. But, we are more used to watching American TV as a staple than Americans may be used to watching Brit Tv as a staple, so it's less of a problem for us to relate to it....we're trained from an early age to watch American TV :P

I loved Shaun of the Dead. As an avid schlock horror fan, I really appreciated this comedy homage to some of the best/worst zombi flicks.

If you want to watch something when you're stoned, try Bad Boy Bubby. That'll really make you wonder what's real and what's not.

or the Thirteenth Floor. That, and 'Brazil', are the closest things on film you'll get to P.K.Dick.

who really could twist your mind.

Maybe it's a male thing.... I thought SOTD, Dodgeball, and Anchorman were all very funny.

I LOVED Shaun of the Dead - my ex BF, on the other hand, didn't. I ended up buying it a couple months ago.

I have no interest in seeing Dodgeball or Anchorman.
