So I heard...I was going to buy it off allofmp3.com anyway.

I've gotten to the point now where there are only some artists where I"ll actually go out and spend money to get the "real" CD. At the moment, that list consists of:

--Depeche Mode
--Dave Matthews Band
--OutKast
--The Reverend Horton Heat
--System of a Down
--Ozomatli

I gave that warning to my mother in law the other day. She had just bought the disk. I felt no need to give her the warning, because she's not the kind of person who plays disks in her computer, and she has no burner, but I warned her anyway.

Well, Murphy's law kicked in. It's the first CD she ever played in her computer. And she did it before I was able to warn her. She claims that nothing bad has happened to her PC yet, that she can tell. She has dial up connection to the internet. How paranoid should I make her when I see her this weekend? I know the uninstaller is worse than the copy protection. So I won't recommend that. She's basically without options at this point, isn't she? Nobody has an uninstaller for it, do they?

Microsoft claims that they are going to add the ability to remove this with a near future update of their Virus Removal Tool.

Of course, who knows what *that* will put on your machine.

Hard'n'Phirm - Horses and Grasses

These guys are like the unholy love child of "They Might be Giants" and Stephen Lynch. I'm giving away at least 4 copies to various people for Christmas.

System of a Down--Hypnotize: For some reason, I don't think it was cool to release 2 new CDs just 6 months apart. It didn't bother me when Front 242, Metallica and Everclear did it. *shrugs*

Anyway, I like this one better than "Mezmerize" (which was released in May). "Hypnotize" seems mellower than its predecessor and more grounded, but it still careens out of control...that's a good thing.

John Mayer - Try! courtesy of son who has convinced mum that this shouldb be played at every conceivable moment. Luckily it's good, so the fact that it seems to be blasting out of every speaker I stumble across in the house isn't as disastrous as it might be if his tastes were less harmonious on the paternal ear

Welcome, Helen Flinders, to the cellar.

Normally, this is where I'd make a (n attempt at a) funny remark, based on your first post. *ahem* I know diddly about Gary Glitter, so I'll just pass this time. Give ya a raincheck, though. Redeemable at my convenience in response to one of your future posts, ok? Good.

Hmmm. Kicked out of Cambodia, without charges. They say the the wheels of justice turn slowly, but exceedingly fine. I hope it applies here too. Thanks (eww) for the tip, jinx.

Raincheck stands. T'wouldn't be fair to start in on Helen Flinders on that note, no pun intended.

As ever the Gary jokes are forming - last heard: they're not having Christmas trees in Vietnam this year, they're just going to be hanging Glitter

Welcome, Helen.

I found the record cover to be very amusing, given recent events. Hope that bodes well for things to come from your keyboard.
