Of course. There are some Texans I like. I try to give people a fair shake but that does not change the general distaste harbored here, especially in more liberal areas.

My biggest issue with Texas/Texans is the dallas cowboys. We get beat over the head with cowboy coverage here. I'm not a real NFL fan, but it'd benice to hear about something other than the 'pokes (and the denver broncos for that matter.)

In fact, there is a little known [to outsiders] law that if you are a Texas resident, traveling across at least 2 counties in Texas, you can legally carry a handgun in the passenger compartment of your vehicle without a concealed carry permit. You must immediately declare it if stopped by law enforcement; but, you won't be detained for the weapon possession.

Additionally, unlike some other states, Texas state history is emphasized in its school system. Natives of the state are taught that the term "Texan" came about in Hollywood westerns and stuck with the rest of the country. If you want to get in good with natives (especially older folks) of that state, use the official term that they were raised with - "Texian." Hollywood didn't like it; so, they changed it.

I lived in San Antonio for years and considered it my second home. These are a couple of noteworthy tidbits that I picked up from native friends.

That makes sense, it might get wet and dirty or fall out, of the bed.

Do y'all happen to know when they began to enforce that law then? I was told about that by a judge in 1995.
