Which religion is more pious?
From the Washington Post of 9 January 2015 is what Episcopals apparently consider acceptable or forgivable behavior. How is someone so drunk as to blow 0.22 (drunk is anything above 0.08) over a half hour after killing a bicyclist while texting ... and this is only manslaughter? Is this is a first time for this bishop? Nope. And that church knew it. Md. Episcopal bishop faces manslaughter, DUI charges in death of bicyclist Murder indictment one. At .22, the bishop could have barely gotten to a car let alone drive it. Murder indictment Two. The bishop was texting while driving. Murder indictment three. The bicyclist was struck from behind so violently as to be thrown into the Subaru’s windshield. Murder indictment four. The bishop then fled the scene leaving the man dead or to lie on the road dying. Murder indictment five. The church knew of the bishop’s previous drunk driving incidents. And withheld it from church ministers who appointed this bishop to a top position. Why is this any different from pedophilia?. But this was god's chosen bishop. So all that is only an accident? After all, the bishop was not some evil Muslim. After how many violations is manslaughter actually first or second degree murder? Muslims 20. Episcopals 1. Muslims win. Or is this only the first quarter? |

A central belief of all mainstream Christian religions is forgiveness for people who have done wrong and are genuinely sorry. So it's hardly surprising.
Doesn't mean the laws don't apply to him and he won't have to deal with the legal system. (Didn't read the article.). It also doesn't mean they won't fire someone who might hurt the church because of their behavior. It also doesn't mean the victim's family will forgive this guy. |

Silly bunny, the bishop is limited to diagonal movement but has no distance restrictions, thereby evading direct assault from any direction.

That applies to white Christians and other white Christians. When it's a black person or a non-Christian, the white Christian is not as likely to forgive.

Only in the cartoon world of American politics. I had dinner with a devout conservative Catholic couple last night. They still get their Jesus love on even if they are certain we're fucking up. This graphic implies a lot of brown Christianity going on. My atheistic younger daughter's college roommate is a devout liberal Christian from Brazil. They couldn't be better friends or more alike.

In 1967 there were 1 million Muslims out of 51 million in France. Now it's 3 to 5 million(1 million are citizens), out of 66 million. So the Muslims haven't swamped France, but they are mostly poor, mostly ghettoed, and increasingly more militant, rejecting France's long held assimilation policy, demanding France change to suit them. That kind of growth and militancy of the sworn enemy, is kind of old hat to the Jews, but France's inability,(or perceived unwillingness) to protect them, has to be unnerving. I suspect some of what is called anti-Semitism of non-sworn enemy French, is really resentment of bankers-brokers-traders-wealthy, after the last global financial meltdown.

Some estimates (all before this event) put at least 25% of Frenchmen with a poor opinion of Muslims. Numbers imply why French immigrant have more problems than their American immigrant cousins. |
