The guys at the paint shop loved it. They didn't think it would look good with the decal under the matte clear, but they changed their minds when they saw it done.

Not a big fan of skulls, but it looks good.

Up late tonight doing the tedious bits. Reassembly of saddlebag hinges, etc.

Rewarded myself by setting the tank and bag on the frame for a peek into the future.

Thanks. I've had an erection for more than 4 hours over it.

You need to find some place to stick it.

I replaced the fuel filter the other night.

Taped the tank up to protect it. That big oval is called a canopy. The fuel pump and filter hang from it. There is a intake basket, a float for the gas guage, a canister style filter and a pump.

The filter is the square cylinder with the hose coming in from the right, on the left in pic 2, the pump has the wires attached in pic 3.

The hoses all got replaced too. Getting the thing out of the tank was tricky, but youtube has a good video showing how to do it.

Part 2 shows the filter replacement process. I struggled at least as much as he did getting the hose ends over the nozzles, but it's done.

I have a small garlic jar full of this paint. I'm painting the left eye in each skull blue.

Up early today to work on it. Hoping to ride it by sunset.

My Harley To Do list v3 is going down, brother!

Today I'm tackling the USB wiring, the LED kit, tank reinstall, exhaust slip ons reinstall, tour pack reinstall, fairing cover reinstall.... I feel like I'm forgetting something... I'll go over all the bolts as I go.

Oh, yeah, the saddlebag fender bracket...

No ride on it today I'm afraid...

Still have to hook up the crossover hose and put gas in it...

Got all the parts back on though...

Cool, but understated. I like it.

Tonight I got home before 10, so I went out to the garage to take stock of what was left to do.

I had to connect the cross over fuel line.. That's a hose that connects the two 'lobes' of the gas tank under the forward curve of the tank. That has to be done after the tank is mounted as the hose goes around the front frame pillar.

I had bought a chrome hose cover, so I put that on too.

I also needed to recalibrate my fuelpak to the throttle, as I had changed the cables.

Once I was done with that.... I couldn't think of what came next. Holy shit.

Put gas in it!

No leaks..... All looks good.....

I took the saddle bags off... Dawdled a bit more, checking over this and that, looking for that one thing I missed.....
Couldn't find anything wrong...

No choice now but to try it. Why am I apprehensive....? What did I forget?
