@Digr. Thanks man. I'm really pleased with it too. I worked my balls off on it, once I was done gargling them. It's kind of plain, but I like that. Considering adding skulls to the back of the bags. Painting them flat white with plasti-dip first though.

It would be cool if you somehow put a chip in the ring and a reader on the bike so you could unlock/start it with the ring.

Got the turn signals fixed and the exhaust aligned so that the bags fit. Fixed the LED system.
Now, the goddamned fuel pump is singing

Is that cowbell loose, or does the engine really move that much?
That fuel pump don't sound quite correct, do it?

Rubber mounted motor. Needs a new motor mount. One of the few things left on the list. Probably do that and a new fuel pump on weds.
It looks fucking killer though.

The fuel pump problem is not a fuel pump problem.
When I was doing the cam chain tensioners back in may, I took a bit of a leap of faith. I trailered the bike up to a guy's house to let him fix it. Met him on the hd forum I follow. Seemed to know his shit. Seemed like people on that forum deferred to him when there was a debate about some technical issue. So I decided to trust him. And I liked him right away. Talked about this and that for an hour when I dropped it off, then he and Amanda and I talked for even longer when we picked it up. I've stayed in touch with him. He retired from his County job and got a job at his local Harley dealer as a service writer. Perfect fit for him. He's not as active on the forum since he started there. I guess he scratches his Harley itch all day long at work now. But when I get stuck, and no one in that forum can help, I've texted and called him. I've been scratching my head over this fuel pump whine since Sunday. Talked to him this evening on the phone. His recommendation was to pull the fuel pump assembly half way out, and turn it on so I could see where fuel was escaping the system. Very clear and detailed instructions on how to go about it. He guessed that I've either got no o ring or 2 between the filter I put in and the regulator housing. Damn if fuel didn't spray out between the filter and regulator when I did as he said. Its not what you know. It's who you know.

I got up early this morning and got to work on this. Pulled the fuel pump out of the tank, removed the filter and regulator. It all looked fine. Hmmm. One O ring in there like it should be. But the filter didn't seem tight in the regulator. So I put it back in, tested it. All good.
Went out for a ride and after 5 miles or so, it started sputtering again. Mother. Fucker. Limped home, repeated the test. Same spray from the same place, just no singing. This time, I pulled the regulator apart and put it back together. Then I wrapped some rescue tape around it. Called the local HD dealer, made sure that they had the Harley filter in stock, and rode down and got it. Came home and, for the third time, removed the pump assembly from the tank. Got that drill down cold by now. 20 minutes. Swapped the filter and moved on to the motor mount. Here's before the new mount. Note the mirrors shaking like Michael J Fox. Also the skull horn cover on the left side of the bike. And then I replaced this mount With this one Now it's like this That's the last non normal maintenance item on my to do list. I'm calling this bike finished.
