this is a forewarning of a pic i'm going to post sometime this afternoon. Here's what happened to my roommate....
On Wednesday Paul bought himself a new toy, a compound crossbow. He spent that evening assembling it, checking it out and just tinkering with it. Well yesterday he took it to the shooting range and it's my guess that he did this on the first shot. when he shoots a rifle he has the habit of extending his thumb in an upward manner. yeeeeah. he did this with the crossbow too. that bowstring skinned half his thumb like skinning a catfish! the pic i'm going to post has his thumb folded back over "normal" but doesn't look anything like "normal". He is in surgery this morning to get it fixed but wow. just wow.  so anyway, consider yourself warned if you are squeamish or at work. i would post it now but have to way to re-size the photo to a postable size.

yeah Sarge, he's not a happy camper right now. he called and asked if i could leave work and come get him but i can't leave until i review some engineering standards. i asked him if he could "thumb" a ride home......he didn't find the humor in that for some reason.....
 anyway.......here it is!
