Sorry, tmi!
But there's no logic to what stays or goes. One small thing working in my favor so far ... the hair on my head is starting to grow back! Just baby fuzz so far but definitely there. Nothing else growing back yet, though. No need to shave legs, hooray!

What I could never figure was the pics of these cancer patients with lush eyelashes and brows and perfectly shaped bald heads. I lost ALL my hair---every fucking bit. lashes, brows, head, arms, legs, EVERY LAST ONE. I got to wondering: how did those ladies keep their luscious lashes and brows and smile with lipstick on when i was dying on the couch? never did get it.

And their fingernails? My nails are killing me - they're all half-detached and every time I bump one on something it just about sends me through the ceiling. Like having something jabbed under your nail into your nailbed multiple times daily. Band-Aids don't work.

Yeah, these ladies with the lush eyebrows and lashes ... models wearing bald caps, that's what I say. I don't see ANY women like that around the clinic here.

You might feel a little silly, but you could try going to the makeup counter at one of the department stores. For women, they often give free makeovers and I bet they would be more than happy to help you figure out eyebrows and such. Especially after you explain the situation (that is if you want to explain it). I know one woman who'd be first in line for you, she's just across the pond, but, if there is one, there are others.

Sarge, that's a harsh side effect.
But a useful one, surely? If I was losing hair from my head by the handful I admit it would affect my sense of worth as a woman. But losing body fur... in a swampy climate... not so bad?

Okay, it probably is.
Fuck all types of illness. Sorry baba.

Re bra size; nothing wrong with a big man having some extra flesh on top.
They're NOT titties and you are still all man.
If'n you want to lose weight then you do it for yourself.

Any woman worth your spit should be looking at the strong, dedicated, decent man you are. If she wants Christian Bale then she should bugger off and try her luck with him.

Thanks ya'll. I was having a little pity party. I'm over it. Now I'm going to work on trying to drop some weight and build up some self esteem.

Incidentally, I'd say 80% of the men I've fancied or had crushes on have been towards the balder end of the spectrum.

A receding hairline or shaved close head is waaaay sexier than a full head of hair.

I don't think you do. There's a base line strength that comes through. You may feel sick and old, but you don't look it.

Also...accepting that there are degrees of decline, there's something kind of sexy about a strong man softened some by age. It's all very well these young turks (yes I know that's not very pc ;p) waving their dicks about and showing off their mad skillz, but tempered strength and a lived in face are so much more attractive.

Men with higher levels of testosterone go bald sooner. Also, they have bigger testicles.

For Sarge.
Because the damned phone cut off our convo.

Couldn't get a good picture of my whole rack.
Losing weight has sorry side effects when you're 40.
