It was actually something in his neck. Artery repair after the stroke he had in June. His grand son texted me from his phone to say it went well, he'll be home tomorrow.

Glad tarheel is looking good!
Minifobette is doing okay. She bled a little more than is ideal post-surgery, but not enough to go back under and fuck around with everything again. It's stopped now. But when I had my sinus surgery a few years ago, I woke up at 3am the first night as a huge blood clot dislodged and began bleeding profusely, so I'm terrified to let her sleep alone. Her surgery was not as reconstructive as mine (adenoidectomy and widening an accessory osteum, as opposed to taking massive chunks out of my horribly deviated septum, if you want to have fun on webMD,) but she can't afford to lose as much blood as I can either. |

The good news is her pain meds knock her the fuck out, so she's not bothered by any of it. It's just me and my paranoia. I have towels rolled up and surrounding her head like an infant with no neck muscles, just to make sure she sleeps absolutely upright with no lolling.

Doing a bajillion times better today. She always takes pain so personally, though. "Why did you say you were going to do your best to be gentle and then you did not do your best?!" This when it was time to pull the miniature tampons out of her nose, which mercifully slid out easily and did not cause new bleeding. Since they came out, she's been bouncing around like everything's normal. I probably still have to keep her home tomorrow, but that kid is going to school on Monday, for sure.
