Also, make sure you document these times now, so that when she's old enough you can tell her boyfriend all about it and embarass her.

The funny part is that kittens respond best to a hiss. Squealing or saying "ouch!" is somewhat natural when you are bitten, but it takes a moment for me to remember I'm supposed to hiss at the kitten when she starts biting.

Oh, and not that it matters, but the reason I won't have kids: hearing even the slightest scream or screech out of one and I have the overwhelming, instinctual urge to back-hand the little twerp across the room. I restrain myself. I do ask to be seated away from small children in restaurants, when I have the option.
