I've betrayed you, sorry

I changed my mind last minute on the Clevland Indians vs San Diego Padres.
A few facts made me change my mind.

A)Lee, although elite, can be hit by the Gonzales brothers etc.
B)Clevland's best bats:V.Martinez and T.Hafner are on the DL
C)Baek is a good pither.
D)San Diego's win paid 2.50

I took Garza's start for the Tampa Bay Rays as they beat the Florida Marlins 4-1 (1.40)
I went against My Angels as I don't trust E.Santana and Figgins is not quite 100% yet. Atlanta's win paid 2.30 and its 5-2 Braves in the 6th.
I took Colorado's win in Chicago over the White-sox paying 2.65!
I've got The Washington Nationals over unstable Bedard and the Mariners.... it paid 2.65 and the Nationals are winning 1-0 in the 2nd.

So, I'm going on 6/6 with the postponed Mets game tommorow at 13:10.
With these odds 6/6 pays a fortune!

Chicago White-Sox vs Colorado Rockies

I'm well aware how good Contreras can be.
I'm also aware how he falls into bad periods.
Holliday is back in the line-up for the Rockies, so they more than likely will hit Contreras in this one.
The Sox bats are obviously better than last year, but they should be quite quiet against Cook who has been pitching great this year.
This game offers good odds on the visiting team!

The Braves have run into some serious pitching problems as 3 starters are now on the DL.
Campillo is no Morton,and I Strongly doubt that he's ready for the big leagues... The Angels should beat him up a bit.
This win is a gimme for young Saunders.
I don't care how low the odds are on the Angels win, it will be the winning bet.

A draw may seem very likely as Romania has proven to have a great defence and Holland is sending replacments in.
Holland's replacments IMO, are mostly players who should have originally been in the first 11.
I can't see how the Dutch players on the pitch will play with any less effort even though they've secured 1st place.

The Rays have moved up to 1&1/2 games to the falling red-sox.
The Cubs sweep the falling White-sox in the battle of Chicago.
The Mets are now only 3&1/2 games behind Phillie....this shopuld turn out a tight two horse race as the Braves season is now over.
The NL west is getting more depressive every day as all teams continue to lose, overall, holding 40 more defeats than wins, lol.

I'm well aware that the Pirates home record is greater than the Yankees road record, however in this case, Rasner is pitching against a pretty weak overall line-up.
Gorzelanny and the bull-pen have to face an on fire, well rested, Yankees line-up!

Florida Marlins vs Tampa Bay Rays

There is no comparing these two teams.
The Rays will end up in a two horse race with the Yankees in the AL East, while the Florida Marlins are almot guarenteed a 3rd place spot as the Braves season is over while the Mets and Phillies will clearly run away in their innevitable tight race.
The Rays line-up really plays well when Sonnastine is pitching.
After all, he has an 8-3 record.

I've been watching Peavy with a microscope.
He pitches well, no doubt, however it is highly unlikely that he will see a 7th inning.
Can Mauer and Morneu hit against Jake? Absolutely!
The Padres bull-pen has become weak.
The Padres line-up remains extremely weak.

dude. Germany shows up for big games. More to the point, Turkey was a team of walking and crawling wounded. They only had 15 players who could even pass their fitness test. They were joking about having their 3rd string keeper playing as forward. If it hadn't been for the injuries I'd agree, but the odds were obviously in Germany's favor. They didn't run away with it, but they certainly nicked it in the end.

C'mon Spain. If Aragones sticks with his usual top name starters Russia will run away with it I think. If he starts his hungry kids who actually work better as a team, I think they'll win.

I don't understand why Spain is the favorite here.

Because Russia has played well enough, but Arshavin has had an incredible tournament. He is playing how people thought Ronaldo would. BUT he's only one man. Spain doesn't rely on any one player. If Torres is closed down, Villa steps up. Iniesta having an off day? Fabergas is there. They're playing well as a team. But they are week at the back so we shall see.

no thanks. for me the games are just for pleasure, i don't mix money with it. i also don't make predictions for win/loss because no matter what i think, i know the game hasn't been played yet and anything can happen in 90/120 minutes.

I'm not busting your balls because you called it wrong, just commenting on how it went down. There aren't exactly a lot of threads about football/soccer around here if you haven't noticed.

That being said, I already made my halfhearted prediction. If Aragones starts with the big names, Spain loses. If he picks the best team, Spain wins. That's what I expect. Either way, as long as it is an open, attacking, entertaining game i don't really care which way it goes.
