sun and Death's htm filename is FindTheDate... Maybe we need to set our system clocks to "the date" in order to answer? That would be a huge leap, even if we didn't actually know the answer.

Possibly; however, that would take a (probably) javascript-based system check ( {var thisdate = new Date();}, or something similar ), which isn't called anywhere in the source that we've seen so far, except on TheBoy.htm--which is an incomplete script to begin with.

Also, what date do you suggest? There are between 15 and 20 dates right on the photos--the immediate one that comes to mind is on date.jpg... the one(s) inside the /6/ light could be it too, though.

I'm sorry to be playing devil's advocate, here--you have some good suggestions, I just can't think of a good way to implement them.

the first thing that came to my mind was the D-day anniversary. And you never know what hidden super-triple-encrypted-programs this guy might have.

And could someone screencap that spectrogram of Cherry Knowle? I don't know how to get a spectrogram thingy.

Edit: And also, with each keyword I try, i get some coherent words, they even almost seem to fit together, and then the rest is gibberish.

on the contrary--there's only one way for {any programs he's got} to do anything with the date on my computer, and that's through a form submission (hidden or not) that feeds some sort of actual data back to his server. The only < form > on the site is on the homepage, and all it does is... well, nothing.

CDUniverse has a decent writeup about CK; the spectrogrammed image is a black-and-white version of the cover, with all text removed.

A possible start point for keywords: try finding ones that are 9, 12, or 18 letters long (the longer gibberish text is divisble by those three).

Mr. Ears, the forums have moved from the tinp.com servers to priestx's place--the new address is http://www.ketadreams.com/forum/ (well, it will be when they're back up, unless px changes something in the meantime).

You hould know by now to never trust anything that happens on or having to do with TINP.

*page 71 dance*

Edit: I'm not trying to revive the idea that the date may be being checked, but there is a call on a variable from TheBoy.htm in ths Scandinavian Imports page.

I really don't think this would have any effect, as many of us were actually working on this riddle on that date. Somewhere in this thread there's probably more information about that, and if not there will be at the TINP forums when they come back.

The anniversary of D-Day, Sweden's Flag Day, a couple other things occur on this date...

There was one, or a link to one, but again: I don't know if it's here or at the TINP forum.

Silver's right, though I think both his estimates are a little too high.

Both numbers probably are high, especially the '15' (it's probably closer to 10). I'd say the max-at-once is no lower than 30, more likely 35, based on the fact that I have 25 people on my TINP-related AIM buddylist, and there were more than that at one point but I deleted them by their own request when they moved on from TINP. Also at the height, there were also a number of people who were active on one forum or another that either never gave out their AIM name or never used it for tinp'ing.

It's back up guys, and I've made a large back up to the back up so this never happens again. Who wants to update the new clue topics on the forums?
