Got an email from Billy in China this morning, said he's doing fine.
What prompted him was he just got my Christmas card, guess it went on a slow boat to China.

i just received a christmas card from the UK. It was one I had sent in a timely fashion, but apparently Beest's cousin had moved and "return to sender" is not airmail. They might have been on ships that passed in the night.

Bezos can suck it.

I ordered a $75 accessory for a particular $425 saw the other day and it arrived, along with the saw.

I was only charged for what I ordered.

Now I have two saws: one that plugs into the wall and one that batteries plug into.

That's probably too many saws.

TL;DR
I saw what you did there.

ha!

likely you can process the "return" of the least desirable saw and they'll say, "OK, just keep it, we don't want to pay for the return".

maybe.

I finally saw something move on the International Space Station (ISS) in real time. What looked like a projecting instrument array was retracted back through a portal and a hatch closed behind it. I've been dropping in on the ISS sporadically via the live link; but, hadn't by chance seen anything moving faster than solar panels tracking the sun at an imperceptibly slow speed.

Watching the ISS is a great idea, thanks.

Is it the 21st century version of watching paint dry? Because nothing beats imperceptible slowness in my book.

Well, you could join a Sangha for the same effect but we're practicing social-distancing.

The old High Definition Earth Viewing (HDEV) experiment's term of service expired and the Live Feed cameras are being used to fill the void. The HDEV link is still active though and carries the Live Feed video image (lower definition) too. What's best about it is that the ISS Tracker is still working and appears below the video when you click on the ISS Tracker icon. It's nice to still be able to see where the ISS is over the Earth. I usually keep a couple of windows open to see both the ISS and follow its relative location:

It is making me happy just at dark to see Venus visiting with her mythic sisters. Subaru owners take note.
