So Days in America it was! I fed my $5 bill into the machine. There was the whirring noise of the motor taking my money, and a satisfying clunk from deep within the machine.
I pulled the knob. And tada! The flag image didn't come out. There was something else under there. And now it was mine. Last edited by glatt; 06-10-2011 at 02:49 PM. |

Here's my art. I'm an art collector now. I hope Alejandro Mazon becomes renowned. I'll make a killing on this art in 10 years.

There's at least one Dwellar who'll kill him for you. You know, just to help his art appreciate.

That is the coolest thing I've seen in a long time. Yeah, I'd be plunking way too much money in that machine.
I was sitting here anxiously awaiting the next picture! |

the flag one that caught my eye is now on deck to be next. It sort of half fell out of the display and into the mechanism. But $10 is way too much for me to blow. I'm very intrigued by the other ones. Maybe once a month or two I'll treat myself and go buy another one from a different artist.
I like the piece I got. And when you google this guy, he's a real artist. He's had shows and everything. |

When I was a kid, sometimes the counter person at the store closest to my house wouldn't sell me the cigarettes I so desperately needed to grow up healthy and strong. But, there was a laundromat a bike ride across town that still had a cigarette machine.
That machine never once refused to sell me cigarettes.

Whenever I hear Dick Cheney's name I picture the "Family Guy" scene where Cheney is reduced to working at Wal-Mart as a greeter:

Oriental lily. Taken with an amateur level, compact, LCD-only-viewfinder-equipped, $90, point-and-shoot camera.

Feeding Time
These were taken last year. After several failed attempts at putting her nest on top of the porch light - we kept getting rid of it because it is inches away from the back door - she finally built it on a top beam of our deck. I was only about 10 feet away on the other side of the deck when I took these pictures. She never seemed to mind. This year she got one over on us and got the nest built and her eggs laid before we could do anything about it. Im sure she hated it this time, because every time the door opened she flew off and gave the alarm.
