ty ALL! i mean that sincerely! i;m tired as all get out but it;s worth it. Here is what i have been up to all week. and hopefully next. and the next. ZA is still trying to get me into the engineering firm. the engineer i was with on tuesday works for them. he said that the project is still in negotiations but that he works in the dallas office so he didn;t know any details. if it happens it happens. i;m working again in my field and this job here is fun! even though a designer or two deserves a bitch slap.

Depends on if you mean at night or always. There aren't too many places that are really bad during the day. At night, I wouldn't go into East Liberty, the Hill District, Parts of Downtown. That being said, if you get the opportunity to choose where you live, I would tend to lean more towards Squirrel Hill. It can get congested, but you can walk just about anywhere. It is a Jewish community, but it is very diverse in the types of people that go there.
Oakland is where Pitt is and unless you don't mind being overrun with students. I wouldn't live there again, but there are some places to try for food and parks
Shadyside is near Squirrel Hill and is pretty nice, but pricey. It leans more toward the yuppie side.
South Side is the place where there are 100 bars on one street. Nice if you like variety, but can get really busy when school is in session. I liked going to the Irish pub there or my favorite coffee shop - the Beehive

Just a quick rundown for ya! I will be able to give you more when you know where it is. Sometimes people say Pittsburgh, but it really isn't there.

PS - congrats

ty tulip....does anyone or can anyone compare the cost of living expenses up there? i realize it depends on where you live but i was just curious. this week at the go kart track i'm run ragged and have no time for anything due to spring break and have had no time for research. in fact i just got out of bed but have to hop in the shower and leave to be at work at 11:30. one more day of this. thank god.
