Watchmen

I wanted to go last week, but life interfered and I didn't make it.

I ended up with some time in my schedule today, and bolted off to the theater just as soon as I had some coffee in me.

I am so glad that I did.

Watchmen was AMAZING.

It's like they pulled the images straight out of the graphic novel and put them up on the screen, like when Dan is looking down into the grave ... Totally perfect.

Everything that I had worried about ... didn't happen.

As much as I had wanted this movie to be made right away, I'm actually happier than I would have been then.

And I'm going to have to see it again, possibly in IMAX. I despise paying IMAX prices for regular movies, but I think this may be the one that is worth it.

Wow.

It is playing here.

I, too, wanted to see this in IMAX. It's playing in the Boeing IMAX theater, the big one, not the little one.

Holymoly. That is a big screen. SonofV and I went to see Transformers there. It rocked. I think this one will too. $11.00 isn't much more than any other prime time movie ticket.

I think this line's mostly filler.

A warning: This may not be for SonofV. A very good movie, but a very hard R.

Wow, $11 is like a regular movie ticket here.

IMAX is $14-15.

I found someone to go see it in IMAX with me.

I just hope the theater info isn't lying when it says they actually run the IMAX version at noon daily.

Overall, I felt it was good. Not too impressed with the music, liked the intro very much. I felt the only major problems were those due to the nature of the medium itself (it is very hard to translate this sort of stuff from comic to film format) and that they changed the ending, not massively but omitting Dr Manhatten's line to Ozymandias, which is kind of important.

I loved the music, particularly the bits from Koyaanisqatsi that were played under Dr. Manhattan's backstory sequence.

I am going to the IMAX tomorrow (Thursday) at noon, come Hell, high water, or the Second Coming.

Went to see it the other night. Left after about 20-30 minutes. Lame acting. Lame story. So tired of comic book movies.

I'd guess you weren't the target audience, then.

IMAX, bigger nerdgasm.

Including feeling Archie fly by. Super cool.

There was a lot of stuff that you just can't see on the regular sized huge movie screen ... Like the numbers the psychologist's briefcase are set to, and the individual images on the TV screen wall, and the BBD, is just well ... bigger.

There's another very cool thing, having to do with a subdirectory name on a disk ...

I'm sure there are more, but I may have to rely on other people's lists to appreciate them all.

(yeah, some of the line reading by Silk Spectre II was pretty lame, but the look was perfect. Shame on the director for that one ... "Jon, I'm tired of ........ your bullshit.")

I heard there was a lot of sex in the film.

I won't go see it because I don't want to go to hell.
