June 19, 2008: Shark & Fisherman
I'm not sure if this is bogus or not, but I thought the pictures were pretty neat. I suppose it could be true.

It's a dolphin, not a shark.

I remember the story in the first pic....its real, the dude was doing a story and that was the least intrusive way of following the Great Whites.
They said they often followed them and seemed really curious, but werent aggressive at all. |

Hard to Believe
I thought sharks were preprogrammed to KILL, KILL, KILL. Hard to believe a shark could be a friend. You need to find a photo of a man and his pet rattlesnake. Here pet it, stroke it, sleep with it.

Well there have been pictures of snakes and furry little animals on this very forum before. They were friends.
I suppose stranger things could happen.

The first picture is real, but it's a researcher, not a fisherman.
http://www.snopes.com/photos/animals/sharkkayak.asp The second picture, from the french magazine, is bullshit. It may have some basis in fact, but not related to any of the pictures. Notice the toothy pictures are by Michael Scholl, of the Great White Shark trust. Smithsonian Magazine just did a feature article of Scholl and his work. http://www.whitesharktrust.org/pages/main.html

After gaining the shark's confidence, Arnold invited a few friends over for dinner.
