government
i don't expect an answer (too much work to think, or, to put aside unreasoning distaste) but i ask anyway...
if you had the power to build a government from the foundation up, from scratch, what would it be? would you use an existing model? would you tweak an existing model? would you cobble up something new? why would you choose (or build) as you do? that is: what philosophy/moral/ethic would drive your government? (mods: if you think this would fly better in another sub-forum, please, feel free to move the thread... )

It is actually a very good question and could result in a great thread, unfortunately true to form you've shown yourself to be a distasteful, pompous ass.

as i said: too much work...to put aside unreasoning distaste
will anyone actually answer the question(s)? is there anyone who can suppress the impulse to 'react', and simply 'act'? so far: no next!

If I could start my own government, it would have a shift key.

I'll answer your question henry, and I'll answer seriously.
If I had the power to set up a new government however I'd like, that must mean I would have considerable power indeed. I would never relinquish such considerable power. So I would set up a dictatorship with me as the dictator. I would seek out trusted advisers to actually run things and I would supervise it all from a distance or up close, depending on my interest in that particular area. |

how do you think the citizenry would fare in your society? how deeply would you control the society? that is: beyond safeguarding your power, how deeply would you manage the economy, the arts, individual work choices, etc. i guess i wanna know how open or closed your society would be

I hadn't really thought that far.
Mostly, I'd just want people to have a good time and all get along. Be prosperous, and all that. And of course, I would want to be very prosperous and powerful myself. Except someone would surely try to assassinate me to take my power. So never mind. I don't want any part of it. |

in the meursaultocracy women would outnumber men 5 to 1 and i would always control the remote.
and use of the word "utilize" would incur flogging. and that's all. oh, and "paradigm" too. and that's all. well, and this chair...
