What do you carry with you every day?
We went out for dinner with some friends recently and one of the guys is a cop. Obviously he carries a load of crap in his duty uniform but I was surprised to see the amount of crap he was carrying at that exact moment for a casual dinner.
He was carrying: *Glock 22 *2 extra mags *Kahr p380 *SOG auto knife *Surefire light *2 sets of zipcuffs I tend to look for concealed weapons and I knew he was obviously carrying something but I wouldn't have guessed he could comfortably carry all that out of sight. Color me impressed. So let's see some pictures. What do you carry with you every day?

There is certainly no concealing that.

Glock 30. Not always on my belt, but close by. I stopped carrying extra mags after reading some FBI studies that say most exchanges are over within seconds. I also have a Surefire light, wouldn't go anywhere without it, as well as my Gerber multiplyer and folding Gerber pocket-cip partially serated edge blade, 4".

Ok, seeing as carrying a weapon isn't all the normal over here, I need to ask... How do you carry your gun and knife on a daily basis?
Lookout, your friend.. Where did he have all that stuff?? |

Glock was on his hip. Magazines on opposite hip in a carrier that also held the surefire. Zipcuffs and Kahr were in ankle holster.* The knife is just a pocket knife.
He was wearing jeans with an untucked polo shirt. *I personally find ankle holsters to be damn near worthless, but he's comfortable with it. I carry my knife in my right front pocket if I'm wearing jeans or khakis. In suit pants it slides inside the waistband. My gun is either carried outside of waistband on a high concealment holster or inside of waistband for deeper concealment depending on what i'm wearing.

It's basically a plastic bag you put over your head. It has a snug rubber gasket that seals tightly around your neck, and an activated charcoal filter that will filter out smoke for a few minutes. It's like a cheap disposable gas mask that will only last for a couple of minutes. It won't filter carbon monoxide, so the idea is just to put it on and get out quickly.
They were giving them away at work after 9/11 and I snagged a couple extra from the offices of people who left since then. I carry one with me in case I'm caught in a metro tunnel fire. That's what the chemical light sticks are for too. I posted a picture of me wearing one a few years ago somewhere around here. |

Oh - cool. I admire your thought & planning. Guess I'm a little spoiled driving to work everyday. I would never have thought of that. Of course I'm in a totally different situation. I'd be lost on a train.

I used to carry a Glock 23, backed up by a Glock 26 plus two extra magazines.
I still carry a Cold Steel folding blade knife (which last drew blood at my wedding, but that's another story), a generic multi-tool (how I ever got along without one, I'll never know), basic wallet with the usual stuff in it (my wife won't allow me any money so I only have debit cards), keys and maybe a hair thingie or two. I do NOT look in the purse!
