New field of 64: best song
I'm ready, let's do this; let's start from scratch or you can review the previous thread. If you don't understand field of 64, you will once I publish the link for the tournament. Or you could browse through the previous field of 64 links to get an idea of how the tournament works.
First, though, we are just trying to find 64 songs which will compete for the title of best song, and then we're trying to "seed" them into a tournament setting where they will compete songo-a-songo. Put forth your nominations: which songs do you think should compete? And anyone may "second" nominations that are put forth. Seconding will count towards seeding. My nominations come from the earlier thread. Rhapsody in Blue Wichita Lineman Ring of Fire Pride (In the Name of Love) Careless Whisper The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face Greensleeves I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry Bohemian Rhapsody |

Moon River--Henry Mancini
Black Cow--Steely Dan The Story in Your Eyes--Moody Blues Beach Boys, anything off of Pet Sounds. Pick one. Just suggestions...don't use if they suck and I just don't know it.

If you're putting up Black Cow, I'm putting up Aja.
For Pet Sounds, we'll go with "God Only Knows", and I'm seconding. |

I was thinking God Only Knows, too. In fact it's stuck in my head.
I can never pick a Steely Dan song. I'm a huge fan. I'll second Aja if you want to leave off Black Cow? Same album anyway!

We'll wait for Flint for his opinion here.
I just saw youtubers of Fagan explaining the chords for "Josie" and "Peg" and he might as well have been speaking conversational French. |

Just my two cents, and it's kind of already shaping up this way, but I think that each band should only get one song entry. That way it doesn't come down to 15 Beatles songs going head-to-head.

Makes sense to me.
UT, I just watched a little bit of Fagen talking about Peg. You think YOU don't understand it! My ex, the piano player, will love it though. I'll have to send the link.

Little Wing! Of course! Personally, I prefer the SRV version.
Seconding Aqualung, too.
