I Wuz Pissed Off, But Now I'm Not.

This morning I had to jump start my car. The battery (a Die Hard Gold) is less than a year old. So I go to Sears to get a new battery, and they tell me that I need a new alternator. And the dip shit charges me $21.00 for diagnosing the problem, I did not authorize this charge. Sears would not take my warranty, so I go to Clason Buick the place I usually take my car for service. If it is the alternator I will get it fixed there.

The dealer tells me that my battery cables are loose and my alternator is putting out good amps and voltage.

So we go back to Sears and get my $21.00 back I did not bring up the fact that my battery cables were loose. They were fine when I jumped my car this morning. I will never go back to Sears Automotive again.

Thats usually an issue with a specific person.
You really should find out who did the diagnostic and let the boss know what happened.

Clason noted the specific voltage/amperage output of the alternator and that they tightened the cables. The supervisor at Sears made a copy of the receipt/work order we had from Clason. We got a refund without having to press the point that our cables were tight when the car was jumped this morning before going to Sears. That's what we wanted.

The supervisor did tell us that there would be follow-up with the tech.
