That guy's ears look a lot more attractive (well, not attractive, but more natural, I guess) than the girl's. Hers look like a weird chunk of cartilage got added to the top; his look like his ears might actually have been (de-)formed that way.

Elf on the Shelf. A keep-the-kids-behaved gimmick that somehow became insanely popular several years ago. I think it must have been featured on Oprah or something, because it came out of nowhere and all of a sudden all the suburban moms were doing it...
