9/11/2003: French editorial cartoon

This was published a few weeks ago when Mars was at its closest approach. The caption translated reads:

Rumsfeld: The Martians are getting closer and they are supposed to have weapons of mass destruction. Bush: I'll give them a last warning.

Elsewhere on the Cellar we are talking about the NYT editorial which claims that Bush has squandered the good will that the world felt towards the US on 9/11. Regardless of how you feel about that, the cartoon might be evidence of it in some senses.

I found it on Merde in France, which blogs the US/France relationship with a skeptical eye.

Well, hrm... I dunno, his take seems to be that France is slowly dying and that its overwillingness to make enemies with the US is part of that.

I guess every country should just bend over kowtow before the almighty USA and chage into battle at our whim. Because god knows we found shitloads of 'Weapons of Mass Destruction' over there.
