OK, I should be more clear, though it seemed obvious to me.

I prefer to stay in this century. I would like to not have mud stuck between the wood, and gaping holes in the thatched ceiling would not be desirable. I'd like real glass winders and stuff.

Also, is a 'foundation' always concrete? A 'foundation' is just that: the bottom line of your house.

Finally, something like this, in this century, would be just fine...a lot of other models are fine too:
