Women: Has anyone tried this?
At the local organic store they have a tea called "Women's Comfort Tea" that's supposed to ease the symptoms of PMS. Now, I know that the idea of PMS being common to all women is a myth, but I am one of the ones who get it really bad. Does anyone know if the tea might actually help? It seemed expensive for tea but if it would help me to stop feeling sick to my stomach and wanting to yell at my boss for drumming on his desk, I would consider it a great bargain.

Is it made by Traditional Medicinals? If so, I'd say its at least worth trying, I've had good luck with their other teas.

Hime, are you telling me that a myth kicks my ass on a monthly basis?
![]() I've never tried the tea. I usually try to be sure to eat more calcium rich foods 2-3 days ahead of onset and it seems to work consistently as far as physical symptoms. For persistent bitchiness, I like to eat a little dark chocolate, take extra- hot showers and get extra sleep.

Dark chocolate helps me too. So does wine, of course...but your boss may not go for that.

Just slit the cellophane open with your key and steal a couple of bags. Put the box in the very back of the display. If it seems to work, then go back and buy the box you pilfered from. If it doesn't work and you feel overcome with guilt, turn yourself into your local police station and make a clean breast of it.
We'll write to you. Honest.

I usually take St Johns wort and Evening Primrose for PMS. Camomile tea is pretty good too as a relaxant.
What're the ingredients of "womens comfort tea"?

I drink peppermint tea to relax the cramps and then take some valerian root to put me to sleep.

April's PMS seems to be the mildest of any woman I've ever been with...thank God. Give her a variable mix of ibuprofen and Midol, and she's good to go.

I have a one day emotional outburst, then I turn back into case the next day. I dread that day. Let me know if the tea helps with the emotional stuff. I have yet to find anything that works for me in that way.

Hime - If the tea is expensive, I would try Vitex Agnus. Its the super wonder drug for all womanly type ailments. You can take it all month long or just in the week leading up. I second Ali's suggestion of St Johns Wort. |

OF COURSE IT'S A REAL FREAKING DEAL. THE MYTH THING WAS PROBABLY DREAMED UP BY SOME JEALOUS MYSOGENISTIC CLOSET-BOUND FAGGOT WHO JUST CAN'T ACCEPT THAT HE'S NEVER GOING TO "GET IT" WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING? THAT'S MY CHOCOLATE. YOU REALLY HATE ME DON'T YOU? I KNOW YOU THINK I'M SO FAT I'M REPULSIVE AND YOU WISHED I HAD A BUM LIKE WHATSERFACE AT WORK WELL LET ME TELL YOU SHE'S THE BIGGEST SLAPPER AROUND AND THEY AREN'T REAL AND SHE WOULD RUN A MILE IF SHE HEARD YOU SNORE AND I WANT A HOT WATER BOTTLE AND SOME CAKE. now. NOW
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Warmth, alcohol or hot drinks, rest and massage. Getting your feet up can make a huge difference -I really hate to sit with my feet off the floor, but I've found that all my cramps and aches feel so much better after 30 minutes with feet up. Massage on feet, base of spine and armpit/shoulders seems most effective. Haven't tried any teas, sorry. Not since I tried raspberry leaf when my first sprog was overdue.
