Stem cell research is something that offered, I believe, false, although necessary hope to spinal cord injury patients.

Although anyone's passing is sad, his in this instance, I believe is moreso a blessing.

I don't believe it is false so much as long-term. The irony is that G.W. and Laura are 'saddened' by his passing even while G.W. severely restricted the avenue of research which might have provided a cure for his condition, albeit probably not in his lifetime.
