I went the domestic route today too. I made coconut, pineapple, mandarin orange and chocolate cherry angel food cake trifles(layers of cake, pudding and fruit) for Arsen. Then I made a huge pot of rosemary garlic mashed potatoes and slow cooked corned beef brisket with red wine. We have enough food to last all week. I even did the dishes, yay! then I ate too much and slept for the rest of the day. Arsen calked the windows and sat on the computer playing good songs and really irritating songs too.
There's a snowdrift behind our car that is taller than the car. I'm glad I don't have to work tomorrow, either.

I feel left out. I've never lived in the snow. Damn these sunny 70 degree winter days!

I'm just wondering...did you just happen to have all that stuff on hand, or do you grocery shop with a menu in mind? I never seem to have on-hand what I need to make excellent food--NEVER! I am constantly running to the store for forgotten items.

Was looking at reader photo's of the blizzard in the Boston Globe online. Wow. Unreal!
