Since I've been peeking in now and then on the banter that was taking place sometime ago, I decided to look. A thread about The Cellar? Some actual discussion on a community from an outside perspective? I was curious! What I found some unrelated cut-n-paste novel followed up with these truly insightful replies:

04/11/06 flied lice?

04/11/06 sounds good

04/11/06 Want me to hum a few bars?
At least one reply made sense. Not only that, but it mirrored the question I repeatedly asked myself as I thumbed through the neighboring posts:

What was the purpose of this thread btw?

Errrr... yeah. I assume the long cut and paste was supposed to be a spoof of some sort? I didn't bother reading through it all. Like Kitsune, I found the replies to be quite enlightening, however. Thanks for the peek inside AG. I guess.

That's because you'd made up your mind before you went. You should read the whole post.

tis one of the best stories i have heard. the animation, and delivery of the story in the film is worth the watch, worth a trip to the store or online to purchase.

I have children so it is a 10 in my book for them. it is along the lines of "Snowman" in quality of content.

and yes mari, in a way it is a "spoof" i posted it as a joke for all ya'all.

as a matter of fact.... i think i will look for it now, have a sit spell and watch it. tis cold and windy out at the moment. perfect to watch The Man Who Planted Trees.

I'm sure it was very enlightening, Bruce. Alas, I only have so much time between packing breaks and my eyes began to glaze over when I saw the length of it. I'll take your word that it was a very deep and worthy post, and that the comments which followed after it were in no way a reflection on the OP's true brilliance.

i don't have time to read most long posts either and surely not one THAT long.

get the dvd I am going to order the dvd since i have looked high and low for our video and can not locate it any where

I have still yet to unpack everything from our move. sure, i can find nearly every other video and dvd we own but not the one I WANT RIGHT NOW!!

after i buy the dvd i will find it. we are on vacation next week and i am sure we will find many things we have not even missed. garage sale time it is.
