Google searches for IotD

The IotD blog view is a great little reference for Googlers, because it summarizes a single image with a caption that relates to the image. The discussion that follows also gets a lot of text into the matter, some of which may relate and add more information for hungry searchers.

So for the last few days I've saved off the log of referring sites, and indeed, googlers are getting to the IotD.

It's fun to browse the log. About half the searchers today are looking for naked and/or nude protestors. Check out a random copy n paste:

Consider - this isn't a cross section of searchers in general, it's a cross section of the searchers who were directed to the IotD.

I really like the idea that it becomes a resource in its own strange way. Sometimes (not often enough) I do research on what the subject is, and I find that there really is no other information about it. Sometimes the information could be otherwise lost.

If Google is really accurate, then, IotD should be the site of last recourse for some of these searchers, but they'll get exactly what they wanted:

All past IotD hits. Others aren't going to get what they wanted, but you could see why Google would display it:
