New bike this year - bought via our government scheme that allows you to save all tax (income and VAT) so comes out half-price - I succumbed to the delights of the Specialized Tricross Comp Double.

Have never spent this much money on a bike before - not sure I would have, either, had it been the full price, but the ride, comfort and handling are all superb and it was great taking it the distance to Paris - no regrets at all!

I was originally intending to buy a lightweight hybrid style of bike, but as soon as I sat on this one in the shop I knew where my money was going to be spent! What I also like about this one (cherry on the already substantial icing, so to speak) is that it has all the pre-drilled lugs to take both back and front panniers when using for touring, plus an extra set of brake levers on the flat of the handlebar which makes for more user-friendly braking (a bit like the old suicide levers, but these work!)

PS - busy resizing pics to post on website - will attempt to make up a couple of pages (will try to do more) by the weekend - as usual text will follow after the pics are in place.
