I never got around to reading any of those books, which is odd, since I bet they would have appealed to me.

A reasonably quick reader could probably get through them in less than 24 hours. And unless you have some sort of sentimental attachment to spending time with your family, I can't think of a better way to spend your last day. Better than lying on the floor with a paper bag on your head. Or lying in the mud in front of a bulldozer, for that matter.
