I suggest you go with a nice, old-fashioned Indian name like Balasubramanian, or Sundaralingam or Radhakrishnan.
Can't go wrong with those. :p

Good point! The booming economies are China and India - give him a name that his new bosses will be able to remember in 25 years

Didn't you see where I said I'd like to choose a name that has as few letters as possible? lol

If it has to be asian, I vote for Chi or Wang.

My visa conditions forbid me answering that question.

I like the name Cyrus for a boy...he could go by Cy.

Or something like Max or Thomas.

Cyrus? Hmmmmm.
Prefer Miley! Or at least Miles.

Max sounds like a gentleman criminal.
I like Caspar.

If you want Persian names, I prefer Darius or Cambyses.

I think he should have a longish name that has various permutations built in. That way, the lad can do a "rebellious" name change and assert his individuality, without having to do a heap of paperwork, and it keeps him on a shortish list of reasonable names so he won't take Treehugger Dolfinlove as his new name.
Maverick is good in that he can be called Mav or Rick or even Ricky (but I have my doubts because, aside from the top gun connection, doesn't it mean calf abandoned by its mother? I digress).
William, Johnathon, Robert, and Elizabeth have lots of good variations, although the latter might be a bit hard for a lad to carry off, especially in Queensland.

Meh, call him Steve. Steve is always cool.
