well, thanks for the reply dave. as to the actual content of your post, yes, maybe it's jumping ship, and maybe the country does need a jefferson or a washington. But I've voted, I've sent e-mails, I've called my representatives and senators, I've organized rallys. And nothings changed. So I guess that, should this ridiculous clown of a non-president get "elected" again, I can go on calling and waving signs and e-mailing. But I'm sick of it. I'm sick of the soundbyte politics coming from the only two sides that anyone recognizes, I'm sick of people thinking I'm a crackpot for professing the same ideals that founded this country. You think Jefferson and Washington never walked away! the hell they didn't! Jefferson spent the revolution in France. Where was the greatness then? And as to the general tone of the post: go to hell
And how you feel makes you just as "American" as anyone else. So what you want to leave? That's YOUR choice. Sometimes you get sick and tired of being sick and tired. Hell, sometimes I feel the same way. Actually, many Americans have done that (moved out of the country) more times that people are willing to realize. I mean, goddamn, as soon as someone says they want to leave the country, it's like the whole world is ending. Wow, maybe America isn't as "all that" as many would love to think. And that's ok! America can't be all things to all people. So, if you want to leave, then by all means do so. It's your life and your right.
