Otherwise known as schmaltz. If you could get a Rabbi to certify it as kosher, it would make a great Hanukkah gift.

As far as I can tell, schmaltz is more like dripping (which was indeed eaten on toast back when my parents were growing up).

Think of paste more like peanut butter in terms of application.
Perhaps described as a cheap & cheerful form of pate.

This is by no means the best the UK has to offer, but I tried to include things that have been discussed in the Cellar, that you probably haven't had before and that fit the budget. Phew!
