The farmer is a good 20 to 30 feet behind the cow.
The camera is blow the horizon line which is forcing the perspective. The shadow coming from the cow also traces a considerable distance before reaching the farmer as an additional clue. Once can also compare the farmer to the fence and suggest that the farmer is 11 feet tall since he's over 2x the fence height. Equally absurd.
