printer
After a year of blurry print outs, I've finally admitted to myself that my printer ain't gonna get fixed. Sooooooooo, I'm looking for a new printer. Printers are cheap these days, people say. Yeah? And there are many low quality printers too. I'm looking for a "good" printer that can both print text and photos and replacement toners not too expensive to buy. Anyone has suggestions? Please DO TELL...DO TELL!

We have a Canon MP210. *shrug* We like it, and I can safely assume that at the time we did at least a nominal amount of research on price vs. quality. Can't remember how long ago we bought it though. It does seem to go through ink pretty quickly, but I do a fair amount of printing too.

We have one of those network HP printers that scans, copies, faxes, prints, and does the dishes.
So now that we have gone thru 3 failures of this type, I've decided this sort of printer is trying to do too many things. I'd suggest an inventory of what is actually needed in your local situation, and buy the best quality you can afford. Inks are available for printers on-line and in specialty stores at much lower prices than the name brand (e.g. HP)changes. |

He's being a smartass, ignore him.
![]() I've had a Canon ip4500 for over two years. It's a temperamental sonofabitch, uses expensive ink rapidly, but does print nice pictures. The HP before that didn't do as well on pictures, but I printed over 20,000 pages in eight years without a breakdown.

I have a OKI C5150 that I have had for years. I use this as the bulk printer. It will print 5 8x10 full color prints a minute and has never broken or needed repair in the last three years. Good quality prints. It uses regular paper and prints glossy photos.
Last Christmas, I bought my wife an Epson Workforce 615. printer, scanner, fax color copier (dishwasher, floor mopper, etc.) so she could have her own printer. She didn't want it on her desk so she had me attach it to my computer as well as the other printer. This thing is fast, reliable and bullet proof. Good color copies and scans. I got it at Sam's Club for about $100-$115 and it is an amazing printer/scanner for the money. It also has an auto feed function for multiple copies. I have scanned tons of photos, slides and negatives. Great printer for the $ and it's intended use. Juanco.......
