My BIL had one and although I have no interest in hearing about his spunk volumes, I can at least say that apart from the expected healing process he suffered no ongoing pain.

Limey told us about someone she knew having the snip at our GTG - perhaps we've become more open since you left Mon?
Perhaps there is a connection between the two?!

I get virtual strangers to feel my contraceptive implant after all

Gossiping about someone else and talking about your own/partners aren't the same and yes -as I noted- it is quite possible that things have changed -the population has become more open, or the procedure more popular/mainstream, but you'll note my comparison was to the year after I left, not now, 10 years later. So the change since then is not relevant to the comparison I made. Of course it's also possible that you have a different level of openness than the majority of the population.
