No it wouldn't balance the budget - not even close.

The R's proposed another week stopgap - Obama and the D's declined.

Hah! Sure it would. Who does all the spending? Congress. Eliminate Congress and you eliminate all the spending. In case you haven't noticed, our system of government has actually become detrimental to the nation. It's time for "we, the people" to cut our losses and start over.
