It looks like leaves, layered, then all trimmed together. Like I'd do to a bunch of collard greens, but I don't know any brown leaves. Tobacco comes to mind, but this doesn't seem right. It looks like a very tight crop given the distortion and the bluish pixels (I temporarily forget the name for this phenomenon). Something organic, perhaps the gills of a mushroom.

That's exactly what I was thinking too, but he said no fungus. Not even close.

I'm drawing a blank. Cross section of a cigar sounds good, but I think there are too many layers, and not enough curvature. I like Monster's candy bar comment, but I don't think it's that either.

I'm really stumped with this one.

Isn't it too up-closey to be a cigar? I mean, with the naked eye I would think tobaccy, like the end of a cig, but it looks really really close up so I think it's something that looks kind of smooth to the naked eye.
