Yebbut - how quickly do the symptoms show?

Whatever I had (I can't honestly claim it was Nonovirus, just that it sounds similar) came on fast. I left home Monday morning thinking I just had the lingering cough from my cold two weeks ago.

One hour 45 minutes later I was on my knees in the staff toilets.
If my source of contagion was school it would either have to germinate for over a week, or be something like The Stand.

Not pooh-poohing anything, just asking a question.
Enquiring minds and all that.
Maybe it's just that Diz put his bum in my face during that night or something.

ETA - from a being infectious POV, I feel awful enough missing THREE DAYS! of school.
I can't wait to go back tomorrow.
I swear I'm not Typhoid Mary.
(I do wonder if they ate my cake though...)

Check with your local health authorities for the prodromal period of the most likely strain of stomach flu endemic to your area this season.

Consider wearing a mask at work for a few days, for the protection of others, if you might unexpectedly come close to them like children who haven't already been exposed running up to you. Adults are easier to keep at a distance so you can just maintain your other infection control measures at home and at work for them the rest of the week.
