If you remember a specific topic, you can search for it. And Google allows some pretty good searching too. But not by post number.

I don't think you're missing anything Happy Monkey. I salute your smart solution to finding the first (five hundred) post(s). I was just wondering if *I* was missing anything.
glatt--yes, I do know about searching especially with google. I don't actually know how to find or even identify the 550th post via google or the cellar or whatever. actually, now that I think about it, the way we determine which is the first post is by the date/timestamp on the post and the oldest post is considered the first post. If there were some way to search for the field that contains the timestamp data and poster's username, then it would be possible accumulate them then count them up or down any distance we like.
