I've never seen a field engineer crazy enough to turn the motherƒucker on without the casing.

Watch the dangers of an MRI I doubt the casing would do much in the way of containment.

I think that the only purpose of the casing is to keep from scaring the patient. And it's a dust cover.

Re the MRI, that's why they do orbital x-rays of anyone who may have even a faint possibility of having metal in their eyes (people who work on grinders, other types of metal-working etc.), prior to running the scan.
