So who managed to slice open the webbing between her ring finger and middle finger wuthin 20 mins of being back at work?
Oh me.

Who has a liver condition which means she bleeds like buggery?
Me again.

Who had a trip to the minor injuries unit and was sent home? It couldn't be stitched because of the location, but the glue means I have to have the two fingers taped together, so can't wear a glove.

Who tried to buy gauze to tape a plastic bag over her hand in the shower tomorrow only to have the whole damned High Street suffer a powercut when I was at the till?
You guessed it.

Day off tomoorow (official) and going to Leeds for Outpatients appointment, then back at work on the tills on Wednesday because I can't get the dressing wet and you cannot work on the counters if you can't wash your hands. I'm just glad I was actually at work and hurt it on work equipment with two witnesses, so it is 100% clear I am not at fault.

Still far rather it hadn't happened at all.

Expect to hear of an ebola outbreak or a sinkhole large enough to swallow a cow or a rain of frogs over Otley at some point soon.

That makes it not your fault?

What I mean is that I was not behaving in an irreponsible way, not under the influence of any narcotic, legal or otherwise (I've finished the course of drugs which were affecting me), wearing sensible footwear, taking reasonable care etc etc. Harder to prove away from a work setting if you just phone in and say, "Oops, I'm bleeding."

I won't go into details in case there is ever a search which can identify me; suffice to say I was doing something essential which I do every Monday morning.

And it's not knife juggling - I do that on a Friday.

ETA I think I took your post FAR more seriously than you mean it.
I am obviously a Jonah and you're actually all at risk just connecting with me via the internet. Look what I did to El Syc!

You forgot to mention seven days of darkness over the face of the land. Or was that included in the power cut?

Re the injury, all I can say is 'ouch, double ouch and ouch again'.
It makes me wince just to think of it. Mega sympathies from Wendover.
