WTF, 8 days to go 260 miles? Even if it was mailed Friday night, sat in the post office over two weekends, and had to go from point A to point A+ before going to Point B, that's pretty slow.

I wonder if it was sent by a courier, rather than Royal Mail.
A substantial number of small traders use Hermes a cheap, but incredibly slow, parcels firm.
The 'post' tends to be used as a generic term these days.
