If it is any consolation, I'm disappointed too. Especially since quite a number of my friends have children or family members with Down syndrome.

I disagree, you can usually tell by appearance someone has down syndrome, it's part of their identity. So what, that doesn't make them a freak anymore than red hair or freckles. Is it the Elephant in the room that everyone must pretend not seeing, and must not ever be mentioned?
