Ted Hughes wrote the story.

I was pretty pissed off when I heard Peter Jackson's next project would be to make yet another King Kong remake. In Hollywood, it's long been held that King Kong is a movie that just can't and shouldn't be remade. I think that's what attracted Jackson to do it. For years everyone said the Lord of the Rings couldn't be made other than animated or softened up for kiddies, but he pulled it off. After seeing the trailer and seeing that he did the movie as a period piece rather than trying to update it, I must admit I might have been wrong. He's re-added a scene that was edited out of King Kong years ago, and used new effects. Some of the dino effects look cheesy because I've seen all the dino stuff in the Jurassic Park movies. Kong on the otherhand looked amazing.

Jack Black was an interesting choice to play Carl Denham. I think he can pull it off though. He may even add some of his humor. I'm actually looking forward to seeing the movie.

yeah I understand that as well.. the bulk of the masses don't want to actually have to think.. or be challenged at a movie.. me? I know I'm the odd man out on that.. and I'm not saying Jason X doesn't have it's place and that I won't watch it! (although I will feel dirty afterwards..) but clodfobble I have to agree with on that, that certian movie studios don't feel that certian 'products' are right for their image.. kinda like if Troma had released 'the passions of the christ' it's not going to fly.. BUT! there are still brilliant writers out there who just can't get heard (remember the episode of the simpsons? where they hide all the good scripts so that they can continue to produce schlock?).. anyway.. okay.. I do kinda want to see the king kong movie.. (but I'm hooked on old universal horror movies and pretty much monster/godzilla movies.. HEY! when you'r born 2 days before halloween.. guess where your interests start to swing towards..) but I won't go see it in the theater.. unless I can get into a 1$ show.. they have gotten enough of my money for now.
